Best Ways of Remodeling a Small Bathroom

It will take a lot of planning and budgeting in order to remodel your small bathroom.  It is important to choose the right accessories because they will have a great impact on the look and feel of the space.  These are just some of the many considerations that you will need to make whenever looking for the best way to remodel your bathroom.

  • Consider the size of the accessories and furniture that you keep within the bathroom.  If the items are too big, then your bathroom is going to feel really small.  This is especially true if the corners are too crowded, the sink is too full, if there is too much stuff in the windowsills and if you have large laundry hampers or containers in there as well.  Replace these things with smaller ones and you will have more space for other items that you may wish to keep in there or to replace or extend your tub or shower if you desire to do so.

  • Think about removing the tub and only having a shower.  This will give you a lot more space so that you can add additional furniture or storage.  If you choose to do this, make sure to leave the shower curtain open a bit to make the room look even bigger.  For those who want to have sliding doors, glass will help you achieve this same feeling.

  • Replace your toilet and sink with ones that are smaller and flatter.  There are a lot of new models available with such features.  These will easily fit into small places allowing you to be able to make the most out of every inch that you have available to use.

  • Add a large mirror.  If this isn’t an option, consider adding track lights over the top of your current vanity mirror or put a second mirror on your opposite wall.  This will give the impression of more room.

  • Make room for some candles.  If you don’t like having candles in your home, add a dimmer switch.  This will allow you to create a much more peaceful atmosphere for you to take a bath in regardless of how small the space is.

  • Repaint your bathroom in white or light blue.  If you don’t like these colors you can always add splashes of color by adding in some contrasting tiles or by painting a border that separates your wall from your ceiling.  You should also consider adding a few decorative touches such as plants, which add more color and make the area feel more open, along with candles as they multiply your light.
