Hints for Cleaning Windows

Window cleaning is that particular chore that must be done yet no one likes to do it. There is nothing worse than cleaning your windows to find out that they are full of streaks. There are many tools available that can help make the job of cleaning windows a little easier.  The following hints for cleaning windows may help you out with any problems you might be having.

• Consider using a squeegee and a window cleaning solution.  This is especially good for high windows or hard to reach areas.


• Always wipe a squeegee with a damp sponge.  A squeegee that is dry will skip when used on dry glass.


• Use cotton cloths or hard paper to clean windows.  Anything soft will leave lint.


• Avoid cleaning windows while they are in the direct sunlight.  This will cause streaking because the windows will dry too fast.


• To locate which side of the window streaks are located on, clean the inside windows horizontally and the outside windows vertically.


• Consider using a homemade window cleaner consisting of two tablespoons of ammonia or white vinegar and two quarts of warm water.
