How to Clean Chrome Earrings

  1. Check in local department or drug stores for jewelry cleaners. You should be able to locate jewelry cleaning agents in the jewelry or accessory department. Read the back of the bottle to make sure the solution will work on chrome jewelry. You can choose products that are more earth friendly.

  2. Prepare your work station. You will need a plastic cover to lay your jewelry on so it will not cause damage to any other surfaces.

  3. Use a soft clean cloth. Avoid a rough cloth to keep from scratching your earrings. Also make sure it is lint-free, so it will not leave any traces of debris behind.

  4. Dip your cloth into the cleaning solution. Try to only dab a small about. Begin cleaning your earring. Wipe in circular motions and then use the dry end of the cloth to wipe the earring dry.

  5. Take a small amount of cleaning solution and put it in a small bottle cap or little Tupperware bowl that you do not need. Put the earring's backs in the solution and allow them to soak. This will remove any gunk that has build up on them.

  6. Take the earring's backs out after about 10 minutes and wipe them dry. Replace the backs back on the earrings so you will not lose them.
