How to Clean Snow and Ice From Auto Glass
Removing snow and ice from your auto's glass is a dreaded chore for most people but there are a few things that one can do to make it a bit faster and easier. One thing that you should never do is pour hot water on the glass or your windows could crack.
How to clean snow and ice from auto glass:
- Start your car, turn the heat on high and the defrosters on a lower setting
- While your car is warming up, brush off as much of the loose snow as you can
- In a spray bottle mix a solution of half water and half vinegar
- Spray the vinegar water deicing on your windows
- Begin scraping the ice from your windows with an ice scraper. If you do not have any ice scraper, you can use a plastic kitchen spatula
If you know that a snowstorm is coming, you can also cover your windows with magnetic covers that are sold to keep snow off. Or make your own with heavy-duty trash bags.
