How to Decorate a Picture Frame
Decorating a picture frame can be a fun, creative project. It's not only a great way to showcase your pictures, but a safe way to preserve the memories with style. Decorated photo frames are great for personal use, and they make great gifts too. Getting started on your project is easy. All that is needed are a few supplies and a bit of creativity.
Step One - Determine the theme for your frame. The frame should reflect your personal style and also compliment the photo in which it will display. However, if you are making the frame as a gift, consider choosing a theme which is more general and usable with a variety of photos.
Step Two - Assemble the supplies for the project. Keep in mind, the overall theme of the frame will determine the supplies which you will need. Basic supplies will include: Wood frame, scissors, old newspaper, paint, glue, small brushes, stickers, clear spray paint and any decorative items of your choice for gluing on the frame.
Step Three - Begin by covering your work area with the old newspapers.
Step Four - Carefully remove the glass from the frame.
Step Five - Use the small brush, to paint the frame the color of your choice. Allow it to dry.
Step Six - Arrange any stickers, paper cutouts or small items of your choice on the frame to determine their placement.
Step Seven - When the design is complete, remove the adhesive paper protector from any stickers and permanently place on the frame. If using paper cutouts or other small items use glue to secure them into place, and let the glue dry before finishing.
Step Eight - Spray the clear spray paint onto the completed frame. This will help seal the items. Allow it to dry and replace the glass.
Step Nine - Place your photo in the frame.
