How to Tow a Car With an RV

You want to take your car with you on vacation. You have an RV, so it would be silly to drive two vehicles to your destination. You can tow your car on a car trailer connected to your RV. This will provide you with the convenience of having a smaller vehicle and you’ll spend less money for gas. Here is how to tow a car with an RV.

  1. You must have a hitch on your RV. Make sure that the hitch is strong enough to tow a car trailer.

  2. You will need a ball to connect the hitch to your trailer. Make sure the ball it the proper size for the trailer.

  3. Carefully, drive your vehicle onto the trailer.

  4. Turn the vehicle off and secure the vehicle to the trailer with cables.

  5. Connect the trailer to your RV.

  6. Make sure that you connect the electrical wires from the RV to the trailer so the brake lights work properly.

  7. Use caution as you drive with the car trailer attached to your RV. Remember that you are adding length to your RV and you will need to account for that length when turning corners and parking.
