List of Reasons That Would Cause Breaks to Squeal

Many drivers are taken by surprise when hearing a squeaky noise after pressing down on their car brakes. There are different reasons for having squeaky brakes. Dirt on the Brakes

A squeaking noise is a normal reaction of the brake rotor when wearing in a new pad. Pad material will become worn by braking action and cause braking dirt. Outside Elements

Car brakes are installed with a warning tab. Warning tabs measure the amount of surface that’s left on brakes. If the braking pad is worn, then you will hear a squeaking noise when pressure is applied to the brakes. This is the first warning that the brakes need to be replaced and a common cause of squeaky brakes.
