Most Important Factors to Consider When Your AC Goes Out
When your AC goes out, the last thing you want is to waste time determining the cause. Sadly air conditioning problems always seem to happen on the hottest days of the summer. If you are considering repairing your own AC, here are the most important factors to consider when your AC goes out.
Insufficient freon levels will cause your air conditioner to stop working properly. If the freon levels are too low, the air conditioner will only blow hot air.
If you do not feel any cool air at all some possible reasons include: inoperative compressor, broken drive belt, defective expansion valve, clogged lines, leaking component, or blown fuses.
The compressor circulates the freon through the air conditioner. If the compressor is not operating properly, the air conditioner cannot cool.
If your car is overheating, when you run the air conditioner, the thermostat has stopped working properly.
If you smell antifreeze, while the air conditioner is running, you have one of two problems. Either you do not have any fluid in your radiator or your heater coil is going out. If you see antifreeze leaking into the floor board, the problem is the heater coil.
