Process for Restoring Chrome

A chrome bumper is a very noticeable feature on an automobile. Road corrosives can cause a bumper to look dull and dingy over time. It is definitely not a problem that cannot be fixed. There is an easy process for restoring the chrome to its previous condition.

Process for Restoring Chrome

  1. Combine 3 cups of warm water with 4 cups of all-purpose automotive cleaner in a bucket.

  2. Use a sponge and thoroughly clean the bumper with the solution.

  3. Use a soft bristle toothbrush to scrub the stained and hard to reach areas of the bumper.

  4. To reduce the chance of spotting, rinse the bumper immediately after washing with clean water.

  5. Use a lint-free cloth to dry the bumper.

  6. After the bumper has completely dried, use a clean lint-free cloth to apply a chrome polishing compound. Apply the polish in a circular motion.

  7. After polishing, apply a thin layer of automotive spray wax.
