Steps to Defrag Your Hard Drive
Overtime your computer's hard drive becomes filled with files you delete and create. These files are scattered over the hard drive. These scattered files will slow your computer down. If you defrag your hard drive, those scattered files can be filed neatly and boost your computer's performance.
Steps to Defrag A Hard Drive
Click on the start button on the bottom left corner of your computer screen.
Locate a computer icon with my computer next to it.
Right click on the local hard drive labeled C:.
Click on the tab labeled properties.
Next click on the tab labeled tools.
Click on the defragment now button to begin the defragment process. The test should take a few minutes to a couple of hours depending on how bad the files are scattered. You may have to restart your computer.
