• Some beneficial insects eat bad insects.  These beneficial insects, like lady beetles and soldier bugs, will attack the pest insects and consume them as food.  


• One rule of thumb says to devote approximately 10 percent of your garden space to plants that attract these beneficial insects.  


• Make sure that some form of these beneficial plants are in bloom at each point in the year.

• Substances like Diatomaceous earth and Neem Oil help to control any pest infestation problems that you might be having in your garden.  


• Diatomaceous earth is made from a tiny hard shelled sea creature called diatoms that are collected from the various oceans of the world.  The effectiveness of Diatomaceous earth stems from the fact that certain insects like beetles in caterpillars cannot walk across Diatomaceous earth without getting cut by the sharp edges.  


• Neem oil is made from the seeds of the Indian neem tree and is known to disrupt the reproductive cycles of certain insects.
