How to Paint a Birdhouse for Kids Parties
One of the most fun and entertaining things to do at a kid’s birthday party is to paint birdhouses. Many children love to paint, and painting something they can use at home is even more fun. Children will have a lot of fun painting their birdhouses. It is a creation they can keep and treasure for a long time.
- Set up your area for to paint. Make sure you lay a covering down so your young children guests will not get paint everywhere. You will need paint, paintbrushes, cups of water, smocks and the birdhouses.
- Make sure you have enough paint sets for all children. Most will want to have their own paint so they can mix the colors as they choose.
- Have an adult to help supervise the children while painting. Be sure to put a smock on each child to keep them from getting paint on their clothes.
- Put each child’s name on their birdhouse before they begin to paint. You can do this with a thin piece of white masking tape. They can peel it off later when the houses dry and they get them home.
- Allow all the children to paint their birdhouses. You can have pictures near by to give the children an idea of how to paint their houses. You may also verbally give them ideas. Make sure to tell them to be very creative and paint their houses just the way they like.
- Allow the birdhouses to sit and dry so the children can take them home. At the end of the party pass out the birdhouses to each child before they leave.
