New business ideas for Indian markets cannot come at a better time. In 2010 India's GNP was up by seven percent. This new wave of economic prosperity is opening new doors for entrepreneurs. Everything from LNG for communities to human hair mats for mopping petroleum spills is being traded, sold and exported in India.
- Liquid Natural Gas is transforming India one community at a time. LNG is expected to grow 7.6 percent between 2010 and 2030. The Indian government subsidizing LNG imports for fueling vehicles and powering homes. This new government policy is making India one of the world’s largest LNG importers.
- Food production for export is a rapidly growing market. India exports 30 percent of the world's spices. The Indian government offers exemption from excise duties for food processing plants. US corporations, such as Nestle is taking advantage of this new market.
- With a growing middle class, India's appetite for fast food is growing at a rate of 35 percent per year. The majority of the nation still untouched creating a wide open market for new business owners. Entrepreneurs can open their own fast food restaurant or franchise off one of the major fast food chains already in the country.
- China and India exported $154 million in human hair in 2010. Asian hair is the fastest growing and has greatest elasticity. Not only is it being used for wigs for European, Canadian and American women, but it has a remarkable use in oil spill cleanup. Human hair does not absorb the petroleum, it adsorbs it. The oil accumulates in layers on the strands of hair. According to NASA, human hair adsorbs five times it's weight while not absorbing the water making an effective material for cleaning oil spills.
- Transportation and logistics is growing right along with new manufacturing and industry. Getting products and raw goods from source to market both within India and internationally is becoming increasingly lucrative and vitally necessary.
