About Green Carpet Cleaning

If you want to clean your carpet using all-natural green cleaning products, there are many different options for you to use.  The products will restore your carpet to a clean and beautiful finish without the use of harsh chemicals that are commonly found in most commercial carpet cleaning products.

  • Vinegar is a great all-natural product that is excellent at removing stains as well as mildew. You can put straight undiluted vinegar in a spray bottle to spot treat stubborn stains, or use it in a carpet shampooer to deodorize and clean the entire surface of your carpet.

  • Baking soda can be used as a deodorizer by sprinkling it on dry carpet. If you have deep down pet odors, it is best to use a broom to work the baking soda down into the fibers so that it can effectively release the odors so they can be absorbed by the baking soda. Vacuum the baking soda up using a common household vacuum cleaner.

  • Laundry soap is a great mild detergent that can effectively clean the dirt and grease from your carpet without the use of harsh chemicals. Mix a small amount of laundry soup into a bucket of water to spot clean your carpets with a scrub brush.

  • Cornstarch is a great natural cleaner and absorbent for spills. If you spill something on your carpet accidentally, you can add corn starch immediately to effectively absorb the liquid before it has a chance to absorb into the fibers of your carpet.

  • You can also sprinkle cornstarch on your carpet as a natural way to dry clean your carpet. The corn starch will absorb the dirt in the carpet and trap it in so that you can easily vacuum it away with a standard household vacuum cleaner.
