  1. Measure 1 1/2 inches against the wall that the sink will be installed on with the measuring tape. Mark an X on that spot with a pencil. Take the sink template that came with the sink and lay it flat on the counter making sure the edge of the template stays behind the marked X. Use the pencil to trace the template onto the counter.

  2. Take the template of off the counter. Make a splice in the counter with a utility knife right inside of the pencil mark.  Move the utility knife away one inch and make another splice. Repeat this process until you splice the entire tracing of the template.

  3. Cut out the sinkhole by inserting the saw into one of the splices. To cut properly with the saw apply minimal pressure as you slowly move the saw forward. Follow the saw's movement at a slow pace to avoid cutting unevenly. Finish cutting with the saw and the remove the counter piece you just cut out.

  4. Sand the inside of the sinkhole into the edges are smooth. Take some caulking and apply a thin layer of it to the sinkhole. Cover the entire inside and top edge of the sinkhole with caulk.

  5. Adjust the sink as you lower it into the hole so that it lies evenly flat on the counter. Use a damp towel to wipe away any excess caulking. Use clamps to hold the sink into place until the caulking is completely dry.

  6. Remove the clamps once the sink is dry. Install all the sink fixtures and connect all the pipes for plumbing. Check your instructions for assistance in doing this if needed.
