How to Replace Window Grids
A homeowner should check the windows in their home on a regular basis for signs of wear and tear. Some of the newer model windows feature window grids instead of a solid pane of glass, which make the windows much easier to replace.
If there comes a time when you have to replace the grids of your window it is definitely something you should consider doing yourself. Not only will it save you from paying money to a repairman to do the job for you, but it is also something you can easily do in a matter of minutes by following a few simple steps. The process consists mainly of just popping the grids into place, which should take you a couple of minutes to do.
- Use a tape measure to measure the height and width of the glass in the window.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions and assemble the pieces of the grid and insert the connectors onto the ends. Depending on the type of grids you purchased some of them will have plastic connectors and others will have connectors constructed of metal and have several points in the frame, which are there to hold the grid together.
- Position the grids against the glass in the window. Make sure it is centered and the ends of the grid are meeting the edges of the window of the window frame.
- Affix the connectors to the edges of the frame of the window by following the manufacturer's instructions.
