Car Window Replacement Tools

If you want to replace windows in your car there are several tools that are necessary that you may not even think about. A good shop vacuum and a special tool to remove the handle will be required on top of the standard glass replacement tools. It’s a good idea to keep these in your shop all the time just in case. 

There are a lot of tools that are necessary for a car window replacement. This is a task that is often done by a professional. However, if you feel secure in your knowledge of replacing windows and if you want to save some money, then this is the way to go. These tools are often easy to find and inexpensive to purchase.

Basic Tools

You will need a few basic tools in order to successfully remove a window. More than one screwdriver will be needed for this task. Typically, a Phillips and a slot head are the main screwdrivers you will need for any task regarding window replacement. You will also need a good pair of pliers and a socket set. Make sure that the socket set is about ¼”.

Shop Vacuum

You will need a shop vacuum if the glass has been shattered. You will need something that can help you to get all of the small pieces that can make it difficult and dangerous to work around. Make sure that you wear gloves during this task and also that you lay down a tarp beforehand to prevent any pieces from falling on the ground.

Door Handle Remover

A door handle remover is going to be necessary for you to get to where your glass is. The door handle along with the door frame will need to be completely removed so that you can successfully remove the broken glass and put the new glass in its place without any problems.
