How to Get Into MBA Schools

Masters of Business Administration (MBA) schools are tough to get accepted into. These schools are highly sought by people who want to eventually become executives in the business world. You need to make sure you start planning well before you start applying to these schools.

Things You'll Need:

  • Application

  • Study Guide

  • Letter of Recommendation

  1. Research what schools you're interested in and what specific requirements they have. Each school will have their own set of prerequisites. Also try researching what schools have the most success helping their graduates earn top paying jobs. There should be many reference guides online or in bookstores that can help you decide which schools are best for your goals and needs.

  2. Study well in advance for the entrance exam. You should be able to request study material from schools or find study material online or in bookstores. Obviously the higher you score on the entrance exam, the greater your chances are of getting accepted.

  3. Network with other business professionals who could write a letter of recommendation for you. Try finding a business professional to network with who has graduated from the school you're trying to get accepted into. Having them write the letter of recommendation certainly won't hurt your chances. Make sure the writer mentions your leadership and problem solving skills in the letter.

  4. Mention your career goals on the application. Schools want people who are ambitious and want to make a difference in the world. They won't want someone who is just going to go through the motions for a piece of paper at the end.
