How to Install a Home Theater System
Installing a home theater system should be carefully planned out so that you can install it correctly. You need to make sure that you have all the parts and everything set up and ready to go to make this process as easy as possible. With the right resources and guide you can have your home theater system installed in no time.
Items Needed:
- Digital audio cable
- S-Video cable with connector
- Coaxial cable with connector
- Speaker cables with wire ends
- Speaker cables with lug spade termination
- Analog audio
- Have a spot picked out and ready to install your theater system. Make sure the space is technically compatible and that you have enough room for all of your speakers.
- Start installing all of you speaker cables first. This should be done first, especially if you are working with a receiver. Make sure that you have stripped wire far enough down the cable. Twist the cable carefully and very well around the binding post of your receiver. Keep two speakers in front, one in the center, and the other two speakers in the rear side.
- Connect the inputs once the speakers are connected. Connect the receiver with the DVD player through a coaxial digital cable to receive all the signals. Make sure to correctly connect all of the corresponding plugs to the right components. Connect the digital audio cable and the component video cable. The S-video or composite output form the DVD player should be connected to the receiver.
- Install a direct connection from your satellite receiver or cable box directly to your TV. This will allow you to turn your TV on and watch it without getting involved with your entire system. The video input of the television should attach to the video output on the back of the receiver. Attach the audio analog outputs from TV to fitting inputs on receiver is if you have Dolby Surround Sound.
