How to Find Local Job Listings Without Creating a Profile
Since job seekers are operating on limited funds, many are searching for jobs online instead of physically going business to business in an attempt to gain employment. Job sites that require you to create a profile send you unnecessary communications along with ones you may find useful, making it difficult to identify potential job leads.
Search newspaper websites
Newspaper websites have lists of employment opportunities like print newspapers do, but are available and searchable, because of the convenience of the Internet. Job seekers can search for jobs from home and not have to visit a library to view the newspaper for free or pay to purchase a newspaper.
Look through trade journals
Go to your local library and look through trade journals and other industry specific publications for a classified or help wanted section. If you don't find any openings, you might find some advertisements for companies you can research individually.
Check corporate websites
If you see an advertisement or hear of an employer with a product or mission statement that catches your eye, visit the corporate website to search for employment opportunities. Postings that might not be available on popular search engines might be available on the website for the specific company.
Network
Let all of your family and friends know that you are searching for a job and ask them to keep you in mind if they hear of an opening or position with the company they work for or any other position they hear of. Letting people know what you are willing and able to do increases your chances of finding a job, especially if you know a current employee.
Use search engines
Use only job search engines that don't require you to make a profile. Not all sites operate on a profile alone so only visit ones that let you search without commitments. These sites will allow you to search by industry, type of job and radius from a particular area.
