How to Add Bluetooth to a New Ford Explorer
Many people do not expect that you can add Bluetooth a new Ford Explorer. Bluetooth allows you to have "hands-free" calling while you drive your vehicle. You mostly have to add Bluetooth to your Ford Explorer by synchronizing your cellphone that is Bluetooth-enabled.
- Grab your cellphone that has Bluetooth capability and then enter your Ford Explorer. Turn on your engine and then press the "Phone" button you see on your steering wheel. The button has an image of a telephone that indicates you are pressing the button to turn on a phone.
- Scroll the available options you see when you press the button. Once you reach an option called "Pair Phone," press "OK" to continue to the next step.
- Turn on your cellphone and then turn on the Bluetooth feature on the phone. Your cellphone searches for all the Bluetooth devices in your area. Wait until your cellphone finds your Ford Explorer's Bluetooth and then click "Yes" when it asks you to connect the cellphone to your vehicle.
- Enter the code you see on your radio in your Ford Explorer into your cellular phone. The code is numeric. You must wait for your vehicle and cellular phone to begin connecting to each other. Once your cellphone and vehicle are paired, all of your contacts in your phone are downloaded in your Ford Explorer. The caller ID shows the phone numbers and caller names on your radio screen.
- Select the primary phone you want to use in your Ford Explorer. Ford Explorers can only connect to one phone at a time. The primary phone is the main phone your Ford Explorer connects to when you are in your vehicle.
- Test your Bluetooth in your Ford Explorer by making a call.
