Danville Yoga & Wellness Center
About Danville Yoga & Wellness Center
The Danville Yoga Center has been located under the old oak trees for over a decade. Iyengar yoga emphasizes alignment of the body as poses and the movement of the breath during your practice. In lyengar yoga, props help to find the proper positions and acheive comfort... in poses. Although our yoga instructors have been influenced and/or trained in the Iyengar style of yoga, each teacher’s class reflects influences from other traditions as well.
We are also a wellness center with the empahasis on spiritual development. We offer workshops that help with your mind, body, and spirit.

Good for socializing, bad for real yoga
I don't usually rate places because i don't like saying negative things. This was actually a few months ago because I had to seriously consider whether I should post such a negative review, but I was so extremely disappointed with this yoga studio that I felt it was my ...duty to inform other yogis of my experience. In fact, I was visiting and used this place to introduce my friend to the benefits and joys of yoga. Needless to say she walked out thinking that it was nothing she ever expected yoga to be - and not n a good way . . . . . . Don't expect any focus on proper alignment or using breath or meditation or connection with your body or spirit. Don't even expect any allusion to any of this. The instructor will just make you watch her do a sequence of poses and then tell you try it. She'll offer some help and guidance in case you forgot what pose comes next, but the usual detailed instruction (that helps you practice properly and SAFELY) is missing. It really felt like "look what I can do". But on the bright side, there will be a lot of joking and talking throughout the class and I'm sure some exercise is better than none at all. So if you're looking for a stretch workout where you can make friends you found the right place, but if you're looking for yoga and a real workout all I can say is good luck. Btw, I don't remember the intructor's name but it was a Saturday class.
