  4. On your roof jobs do you recommend roof vents and / or exhaust fan. Which is better - I would like to use both.

Re: Roof vents and/or exhaust fan.
With a new roof job on a house do you recommend roof vents and a new exhaust fan to replace the one that is there? I don't want to give up the fan but one contractor recommended this. One estimate included a new fan. Another listed roof vents as an optional cost and will remove the existing fan. There are side vents. I am confused as to which way to go. I would like to have both - what do you think of a solar fan.

  8. Unreasonable increase in final invoice from Contractor

My contractor gave us a final bill that appeared to have inflated some costs/added some questionable costs (compared to original contract). We are considering taking the matter to third party (arbilitration or the license board) and the contractor threatened to "add some more costs that were 'waived'" if we take the case to the board. Is this even acceptable? Doesn't this furher raise questions to his credibility? What should I do?

  10. Chandelier is blowing breaker all of the sudden. Why?

I have an 8 light antique chandelier which I had professionally rewired 5 years ago. It has been working fine up to now. All of the sudden it's popping the breaker! I am putting the same low watt bulbs in it that I always have, and nothing has changed - but now when I turn the fixture on (like I ALWAYS have...using the wall switch) it immediately pops the breaker. What happened??? This is a big deal for me because it is 18 feet in the air, and a lot for one person. I'm not really even sure it is the problem of the fixture. Could it possibly be something else that runs off that same breaker? Is it necessarily the chandelier malfunctioning?
