Answer 1 is correct about the cause of the noise being electrical ARCING [arcing is sparking, but more than just once, but instead, a series of arcs/sparks related to the 60 CYCLE nature of the AC [alternating current]. That is WHY "it made this crackling sound." Over the years I've also heard that type of arcing described as sounding like the "sizzling" of bacon being fried.
Arcing between the contacts in any electrical switch occurs EVERY time the switch is closed [turned on] or the contacts opened [turned off']. If you deliberately hold the switch in a position "just barely" in contact, but not fully and firmly, this arcing will occur. To answer the "questions at the bottom..."Yes, each time such arcing occurs, there is some slight damage to the surfaces of the contacts. However, this is minimal and it takes a long time to damage the switch badly enough to require replacement. Do not continue to "play" with the switch in this manner, so as to cause the sizzling/arcing, as this WILL damage the switch contacts.IF any of your switches are "sizzling" WHILE fully turned on or off, then that does indicate a severely worn condition, and for the safety of preventing a fire, the sizzling switch should be replaced with a new switch.www.cusabio.com/Native_Protein-118542/ Sheep Serum AlbuminAnswered by BioCusa (Novice with 183 pts.)

To get the perfect spice, you need to add just the right amount of pepper - just like in slot, where the heat builds up with each new spin, bringing more and more fun.
