A middle school American football player and Paralympian, Gerry (pronounced like "Gary") died on March 20, 1981. He rose to fame as a member of the T. C. Williams High School football team that won the 1971 Virginia State Championship and was featured in the Titans, which is the Disney film Remember. Bertier was also Howie Livingston's nephew.
