What is puirpose of adhesive tar strip of back of roofing shingle, that is covered while stacked for shipment?. Yes.. I've seen the thread concerning removing the plastic strip or not.
Please provide reason for adhesive being placed there, at all?
If not installed, then, plastic strip would not be necessary!

Replace automatic roof vent or remove completely? We had new roof installed 2 years ago, and had ridge vents installed on it. We had existing auto ventilator fan that was working and we left it in. Now it's no longer working...should we replace the auto fan, or should we have it removed? We have soffit vents for incoming air. Is it best to have an auto fan also, or will the soffit & ridge vents do the job? 1400 square foot attic...which we had additional insulation installed last month.
