    Hi JeniLin.
With my Service, we follow our Client's instructions regarding "playing video games," as my Sitters go directly to the Client's location. Playing video games sounds like a parent personal decision. I would contact a professional psych person to get the correct answer. I'm sure there are many variables. Sorry I haven't been much help, but thank you so much for asking.

video games that are educational and skill based are good for children. No more that 30 minutes per day. However video games that include negative behaviors are sometimes missed by parents. Do not purchase games unless you review content. Maybe ask another parent for suggestions as to the best videos. The number one thing that that children and families are missing out on is outdoor play for kids and families as a whole. Just remember that kids remember the "memories" of family time together not things that you buy them.

Sure, why not, but limit it and mix it with sports and/or outdoor activities.

No we don't. Kids get their TV time at home and they don’t need it at preschool, they need the social skills and self motivation/entertainment skills that come from working independently and in groups.

I have an eight year old son and I allow him 30 min on week-days and 2 hours to spend throughout the weekend as he chooses, either all at once or in increments. I also monitor the ratings and types of games he plays.

only the wii because they actually have to move and for no more than 2 hours a day. Make them play outside. Hide n seek, kick the can, baseball, army, football, soccer, red flag, etc...

Never more than 1 hour at a time. Unless of course you need a free babysitter, then 5 hours works, go for it

Make your kids play video games that are educational and not of all violence. If you really want your kids to grow up well, let them out and play. You can enroll them in various sports activities. That is a much better option!
