Hard-water deposits are alkaline, so an acid-based cleaner is the best way to clean them. Phosphoric acid works well and is safe for most surfaces. Grocery store cleansers with phosphoric acid contain 4 percent to 6 percent acid. You can purchase lime scale removers at janitorial supply stores that contain 8 percent to 12 percent acid to get the job done faster. A higher concentration of acid is safe on most household surfaces as long as you rinse the surface to remove all traces of the acid after the cleaning is complete. Let the acid sit for a few minutes after you apply it to let it work. Tough hard-water deposits may take more than one application. Scrub the applied areas with a white, nylon-backed scrub sponge. Make sure you read any manufacturer's warnings before applying phosphoric acid solutions to surfaces in your home.

Put Oxiclean in boiling water. Apply liberally to the shower door. Let it sit for 20 - 30 minutes. Scrub with a brush and rinse. It should all come off. If not then reapply. To keep soap from building up apply a good car wax (like NuFinish) every 3 - 6 months. The same instructions apply to a fiberglass shower! I've been using this techinique for 30+ years and it always works!Answered by Molokai 207 Molokai Shores #207, Molokai, HI, 96748, 941-475-9692 (Novice with 5 pts.)

If you don't mind a bit of elbow grease and want to stay enviroment friendly I would suggest a paste of baking soda and vinegar. For an easier fix CLR has always done the trick for my sold in most larger drugstore chains and home improvement/hardware stores. GL

Try using bar keepers.
If you can easily rinse the shower doors with the shower head wet shower doors and apply the Bar Keepers starting at the top.
If limited water access or lack of reach with the shower head etc wet a rag and apply the Bar Keepers to that.
No need to over apply as you will need to squeegee it off after rinsing
You can also rinse with wet paper towels for easy disposal.

There are a few factors that will need to be considered. One, If the glass is frosted, then you need to be careful not to use anything that is abrasive to the frosting. If it's just glass and you haven't maintained it then you could try using a mild dertegent with hot water and a nylon scrubby pad. The kind you would use on dishes to clean them.

Another poster on here is right. The reason you are getting those stains is because you have hard water. The best way to prevent them is to get a water softener. There's a lot of benefits to getting a water softener besides no water stains on your shower door. You will have softer hair and skin. Also, have you ever noticed those same spots on other appliances in your home? It's called scale and it can gather on many other places in your home, like your water heater elements which means it's costing you more money to heat your water. I would definitely recommend you look into that and choose the best water softener for your needs. I've posted a link that explains more about what happens when you get hard water stains and what you can do about it.

Probably the best way to remove hard water deposits would be to NOT get them in the first place. Once you opt from the best solution in the suggestions below and after some real hard work getting rid of those though stains, just protect your shower doors and your whole house with a water softener !
Ok i might sound as an opportunist in answering this way ! But think about it if you really manage to get rid of those spots , Do you want to go thru that experience again ??
