Wedding photos are great and an important part of every wedding, but don't forget about giving your guests a lifetime memory as well.
Photo booths are hip, cool, fun for everyone and all your guests get to take home memory of your wedding. Another great resource that is sweeping events is popnoggins which is green screen video technology. Take a look at this hot entertainment and you will see that you NEED this at your wedding.

This is a little off of the beaten path for me, but the best photos I have ever seen of a wedding we're produced by a newspaper photographer. These were action shots, that a normal photog would never have captured. They also did all the posing stuff, but the newspaper photog was great

You can search on vendor sites, like WedPlan to get the best photographer options. This works well and there are many local vendors in Miami on there.
Photographers buy your leads and contact you directly so you can obtain quotes from one place.

I would look for fashion photographer on the internet.. You can aslo attend events like bridal shows. There is always photographers hanging out one of those. Also Bridal Shops.
The last place I would go to is your wedding planner although that would seem to be the natural place to look. This is something you must do. And I would look at least 5 photographers. Its not that they are good or not...they are good. But. Each photographer has their own style, and even thou you might like the first photographer because he is a professional. The 3rd or 4th...might match your own style better. Good luck in your search.

Your best bet is personal referrals. Ask friends, co-workers, relatives who they used. When you interview the photographer, make sure that they are the one who will be doing your wedding, not someone else from their company. Put someone else in charge of the photographer the day of the wedding. My daughter's wedding was nearly spoiled because the photographer did not take the family shots she asked for, I was too busy being the mother of the bride to notice, and family members feelings were hurt. You need an advocate to make sure you're getting what you paid for, before it's too late.

Check your local listings and get recommendations from friends and co-workers. Meet with the photographer and ask questions to make sure you feel comfortable with this person. It's important to feel that comfort level because the photographer is capturing one of the most personal moments of your lives.

I think asking friends for their recommendations is the best source. Additionally, you can check with your local chamber of commerce and research online wedding sites. There are several of those, including my www.mywedding.com, www.weddingwire.com, and many more. You can also consider asking a photographer in your area that doesn't do weddings. They will more than likely have someone they feel comfortable recommending.

Check out the pros on Wedding Wire; you can search by location, and you'll find the best of the best. Ask your officiant or your venue for the people that they have seen and liked.
First though, you need to have an idea of what you want; are you looking for a lot of formal photos, or do you prefer photojournalist style coverage.
And do keep in mind that you will probably spend more time with your photographer that day than anyone else. Make sure you like them!
