How to Install Ford Trucks Headlights

Most Ford truck headlights are installed the same way. Installing the headlights yourself won't be very difficult. You'll also only need a few tools. Make sure you buy the replacement headlights from a reputable auto shop and not off brand products.

Things You'll Need:

  • Screwdriver

  • Socket

  • Wrenches

  • Light bulb

  • Towel

  1. Open and keep the hood up with a prop. Some hoods might automatically stay up and not need a prop.

  2. Remove the plastic panel on the headlight assembly. Most panels are screwed in by a few small screws. The type of screwdriver you need might vary. Have both a flathead and Phillips screwdriver nearby.

  3. Remove the headlight assembly. Some assembly's might have bolts and clips attached. You should be able to easily remove the bolts with a socket or standard wrench. The clips should easily remove by hand. All these parts might vary in size depending upon what type of Ford truck you have.

  4. Pull the assembly out as far as you can and look for the light bulb.

  5. Remove the light bulb by your hand. You shouldn't have to pull real hard for it to come out. Make sure you take you time and don't break the light bulb. This will cause more problems and make the process take longer.

  6. Install the new light bulb, but make sure you have a towel wrapped around the actual bulb. The oil on your hands could cause the bulb to prematurely wear out.

  7. Install the headlight assembly and plastic panel after the new bulb is safely secured.
