Steps to Install a New Kitchen Faucet
A new kitchen faucet can be an instant makeover for your kitchen. Small changes can make a home look like better than bigger changes. It does not take a lot of skill or time to change the kitchen faucets. Follow a few steps to install a new kitchen faucet.
Steps To Install A New Kitchen Faucet
You will need an adjustable wrench, basin wrench, two water supply lines and plumber's putty.
Look under the sink for a valve for the water. Turn off the water supply. If you cannot find it, turn off the main water supply to the entire house.
Remove the old faucet. Use an adjustable wrench to disconnect the faucet from the water supply lines underneath the sink.
You will find nuts underneath the faucet stems. Unscrew the nuts with a basin wrench. Lift out the old faucet. Remove any residue and water from the sink top.
Put the plumber's putty along the opening where the new faucet will be placed. Put in the new faucet and press lightly.
Put the nuts on the new faucets.
Reconnect the water supply to the new faucet and use the basin wrench to turn on the water supply.
Clean up any excess plumber's putty.
