Find software to unzip files from your computer. 7-zip is free software for zipping and extracting contents from zipped folders. You want to download the program and use the software when needing to unzip a file.
Select the file to unzip. You will need to select the file that needs to be unzipped and use the option “Extract To”.
Specify the destination location for the file. You will need a location on your hard drive to extract the contents of the zipped file. The location should be on the C drive, and folder should be named for the file.
Extract contents of files to the hard drive. After choosing the location, the contents will start to extract, and users will see a progress status bar.
View the contents of the file. After completing the extraction process, a folder will pop up revealing the contents of the file.
